Agatized Fossil Snail Shell with Water bubble!

Sue B. of Newport found this 2" wonderful agatized enhydro sea snail fossil specimen earlier this summer while beachcombing on the Oregon coast. This fossil would be about 15-20 million years old.

Photo has been enlarged to show the bubble encased within the agate.

Agate Arrowhead found!

Nice find! Earlier this month Jon M. found this jasp agate arrowhead while visiting in Newport! This is the second agate arrowhead we have seen in recient years here in the Newport area. However please remember taking artifacts from the beaches in Oregon is not recommended.

Photo shows both the front and back.

Congratulations to Jeff Smith of Ashland!

Congratulations to Jeff Smith and his friend on their exceptional find of the largest complete agate enhydro Clam Bellie, we have ever seen! They were in at closing September 13th and we had the camera put away, hope they will stop in again and let us take a photo to show everyone this exceptional find.

Sorry we have been so busy this summer that we haven't had a chance to get the photos up that we have taken of other treasures. Hope to find some moments to get back to the photos. Happy hunting everyone.

Nice large Jasp-agate found

This nice large piece of jasp-agate was found earlier in July by Kevin C. of Yachats.

Tali-Ho and off to school she goes!

Lapidary art of wire wrapping a stone into a wearable piece of art

Have a safe journey and good luck at school, Tali you will be missed by all of us here in Newport! You have been such a great team player here with us for the last two years. We know you will excell in anything you set your mind to.

Tali is shown here with her gold wire wrapped cloud agate that was actually found here in Newport with the inclusion shaped as a cross. How fitting a piece to send her off to Boise Bible College.

Good Luck from all of us!

Agate Hunting at Roads End in Lincoln City, Oregon

Enjoy 4 minutes of beachcombing at the surf line and around the cove during the low tide for agates on the beach at roads end with Jafravh. Her bonus footage will also include close up views of the tide pools, home to a variety of colorful sea stars and sea anemones which are groups of water dwelling, animals of the intertidal area plus a spectacular close-up of our national symbol the Bald Eagle perched on a rock out crop at the Oregon Coast!
